Role Overview
Lead design, development, and delivery of complex software modules for a cutting-edge OTT video platform. Own significant system components, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to architectural decisions.
Contract: 6-12 months (high perm potential) Location: Hybrid – Toronto (Tue/Wed/Thu onsite). GTA only.
What You’ll Do
- Lead design/development of complex software solutions
- Conduct code reviews; ensure best practices
- Participate in architecture discussions
- Mentor junior engineers
- Resolve complex technical issues and incidents
- Optimize for performance, scalability, reliability
- Collaborate cross-functionally (product, QA, engineering)
- Drive continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For Technical (Must-Haves)
- 5-7 years software development (Golang or Java) in scalable systems
- 3-5 years DevOps/GitOps (CI/CD, IaC, release management)
- 3-5 years NoSQL (Couchbase) and/or relational databases
- Extensive Kubernetes experience (CNCF ecosystem)
- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Distributed systems design and architecture
- Strong problem-solving in complex environments
- Mentoring experience
- Exceptional communication
Highly Favorable
- Cloud/K8s certifications
- Video/OTT or media streaming experience
- Open-source leadership
